Bangladeshi film festival entitled “Bangladesher Chalchchitra Utsab” will be held in Kolkata.
The Bangladeshi film festival in Kolkata aims to spread the history of the country’s Liberation War through film. A day long screening of Bangladeshi film titled ‘Bangladesher Chalchchitra Utsab’ will be held in Kolkata on February 8.
The film festival scheduled to be held at Nandan in Kolkata where 7 films from Bangladesh will be screened.
The Bangladesh Embassy in India is organizing the festival in association with the central government and state government of West Bengal, India.
At the film festival, Giasuddin Selim’s ‘Monpura’ and other six films, made under the banner of Impress Telefilm Limited will be screened. The six other films, all of them are made under the banner of impress telefilm, are ‘Third Person Singular Number’ of Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, ‘Durutya’of Morshedul Islam, ‘Dub Shatar’ of Nurul Alam Atik, ‘Chandragrahan’ of Murad Pervez, ‘Lal Tip’ of Swapan Ahmed and liberation war based film‘Guerrilla’ directed by Nasiruddin Yousuff.
Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Limited Faridur Reza Sagar, Mostafa Sarwar Faruki, Filmmakers Morshedul Islam, Giasuddin Selim, Murad Pervez, Nurul Alam Atik, and Swapan Ahmed will be present at the festival. The festival will be shifted to Delhi and Agartala in turn.
